It’s this guy’s blog who grew up in Boise, moved to SoCal in the 80s and had a brief stint working at Freestylin’ Magazine and various other BMX companies. He’s in his mid-40s now and living in North Carolina. He has a TON of stories. These three in particular are about Boise:

• Boise’s Second BMX Track
• Fort Boise Track
• First Freestyle Team in Idaho

His name’s Steve Emig. Can somebody ask Jason Richardson if he remembers the dude?

Here’s another old video to put you guys on memory lane (and again, sorry for the shit quality). The track is Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. I remember hanging out at the Hanger one evening and this song was playing over the speakers. About 1 minute into it, a huge brawl started popping off outside. Everybody inside ran to the windows to watch and merrily sang along to the song while faces got smashed and fists flew.

Oh and I had no idea Dave was going to ice that rail in the end. I thought he was going for another 180 and then the next thing I knew, he was icing through a 12 stair with a harsh kink.
